The Omnivore World Tour made a stop at Dekalb Market this weekend and so did we! On Saturday morning, we traveled down to Brooklyn with me covered in a cascade of restaurant “to go” tickets, ready to ask everyone to write down “The craziest thing you’ve ever eaten.” Here are the answers from Brooklyn’s favorite omnivores!

I went to Lincoln Center Plaza on Wednesday to get some fashion advice. I’ve never been to Fashion Week before, so this was a good day to start. I was able to find a way to talk to everyone; got good advice from one of the photographers; and was offered two hair products from the ladies who did hair for Rachel Zoe. I asked everyone: “If what you’re wearing could talk, what would it say?”

I don’t take the L train very often, but when I do I’ll always feel a little bit like an outsider. (Or, like I’m not dressed properly enough for it.) So, this time I tried something different. I asked everyone to write down one “one goal or one thing they really wanted to do,” and I slowly became more of an L Train insider.

I went to Grand Central station to ask passengers what goes through their minds when they’re on the train. As someone who takes a lot of trains every day, it would be helpful to know if the thoughts going through my mind are similar to those of my train taker contemporaries. Here are some pictures.
*After an hour and a half of writing, I was asked to leave and to stop doing that. I’m glad this lasted as long as it did, though. And getting asked to leave a public place is always exciting.
